Supporting You In Custody
How we support you
You’ll continue to have support from your Personal Adviser (PA) until you turn 25 – we’re here for you throughout.
While you’re in custody, we’ll stay in touch through visits, phone calls, and emails. We want to make sure you feel supported and know what help is available to you.
We work closely with the prison and probation services to help you prepare for release and make sure things go as smoothly as possible when you return to the community.
Each year, you’ll receive a Household Support Fund payment to help with essential costs. This is part of our commitment to making sure you have what you need.
When you’re released, you may be eligible for up to six weeks of Independent Living Allowance (ILA). This can help you get back on your feet financially while you settle in.
If you need it, we can also provide up to £150 for clothing to make sure you have what you need when you leave custody.
Before your release, we’ll work with you to make sure everything is in place — from where you’ll be living to what support you’ll have. We want you to feel ready and confident about your next steps.
